Description

Galatam called a meeting to discuss the new LLG arrangements. Wanuma will form a new LLG to split middle Ramu into 5 LLGs. This is already in process and was reported in a middle Ramu newsletter. The discussion points for the meeting were: 1. We're now in the Wanuma LLG 2. How should we amamas the MP who comes to Wanuma next week? 3. There will be LLG elections this year.

(what are the benefits of a new llg? we were once one llg with josephstall. now our mountain place with be wanuma llg, we're leaving josephstall. our mp will notice us mountain people, our names are on the paper and they will know us. we don't have a road, a market or anything. it's bush. the head people in the government will become aware and we'll get a road and eat. they'll know our kaunsil and magistrate and see we sit badly and they'll give to us. food, money and we'll get that and sit well. if they don't know us then we'll stay bad. we'll get salt and food.)

(we were in josephstall, but 7 wards will leave and become a new llg. we'll be ward 6. there will be a redivision of wards afterwards. now there will be 7 wards forming 1 llg. on september 26 this will happen. service providers and business will come, things might come. we'll stay in middle ramu, the 4 llgs will become 5. our mp will be the same. we'd like to become a different province, the ramu province, but that's a dream. on may 28 it was agreed this would happen. the prime minister will come. next week tuesday the mp will come, they're making a grandstand now. today is our first llg meeting as ward 6. what will be the benefit? we'll stay the same, but we may slowly develop. now we're wanuma, before people did things, but not for us. now there will be thinking just for our area and i think things will change. good things will happen, i think our children will see it.)
