Description
Natalie and I asked a group of people whether some could come with us to teach us about collecting firewood. We gathered up bushknives and took of. It was only girls and ladies that came with us.
We did a 10 min walk and came to an old garden where we were told everyone gets their firewood. The dry trees were cut down and then cut into pieces and put together in small piles. At some point a few ladies started making rope (from the bark of a tree) to bundle the wood all together. All the small bundles were collected and bundles together with the rope. Everyone (also some kids) carried the bundles on their heads back to the village.
During the process of cutting the wood, some kids were Hunting for crabs.
The ladies said that they usually get firewood in the afternoons. They can go on their own but also together with others.
