(i gave a child to francis, a girl but she died. i gave one to max - but he got big and went to iven?- my daughter magal i looked after, my sister married into ingis but she died and i looked after the daughter. i looked after my sister's child and she's big now)

3: 0:02:51
(i looked after my sister's orphan from ingis. samuel's aunt went over there and got a husband and ulumo and nambi looked after one of her kids. so there's no taboo about staying in the clan? no there's no taboo, you give to who you want to give. it can be far away.
why do you give kids away? why did you give away a child?
my wantok said he didn't have kids, max didn't have any daughters and he wanted a daughter)

(while the child is small and wanbel is there the child stays with the adopting father, that was my thinking. kavaluku says he gave his lastborn to stay with some cousins, they stayed nating. i said that they could keep them. they offered a child too, but i didn't take it. silas is yagil's brother, but simemu didn't have any children so they gave him to her and they looked after him.
so you gave a child to max. what would happen if you fell out with max and wanted the child back, who's child would she be?
my child, but she got a big sick and so i took her back and kept her.
so the birth father can take the adopted child back?
the child grows up knowing who inda his and inda omboto are.
so a dad who has lots of kids and gives them away, but later wants them back he can take them back?
if it's working they'll stay but if it's not working then it'll be for a short time.
kavaluku - i gave jack to was, but he died and i haven't taken jack back. sometimes he sleeps in my house, but sometimes he sleeps in kukas' house. he comes and goes, he comes to me when there's lots of work to do. jack's big now and it's not hard work to look after him.
semik - if we've given a child and now we want it back we have to pay a wanbel - pigs and money. we think the child is still the birth parent's child and so they can put a wanbel and get the child back. if the adopting father is not doing well, hitting the child or not feeding them then we will be cross and take the child back.
sibil didn't have kids to look after his buai and stuff so silas was given to him, same with was and kukas, they didn't have children and i gave jack. kukas didn't have someone to look after her bamboo, marita, buai and saksak, so we gave one to look after those things. we're one big family)

(if we give a child to a brother then it's the same land that would be inherited, one blood.
and giving to someone far away?
they'd get ground far away with the adopted line, we'd just visit.)
